| Aim |
| The aim of this undergraduate Nursing Programme is to :- |
- Prepare graduates to assume responsibilities as professional, competent nurses and midwives to provide promotive, preventing, curative, and rehabilitative services.
- Prepare nurses who can make independent decision in nursing situation, protect the rights of and facilitate individuals and groups in pursuit of health.
- Function in hospital, Community Nursing services and conduct research studies in the area of nursing practice.
- Prepare nurses to assume the role of a teacher, supervisor and manager in a clinical/public health setting.

| OBJECTIVES |
| On completion of the four year B.Sc. Nursing program the graduate will be able to:- |
- Apply knowledge from physical, biological and behavioural sciences, medicine including alternative system and nursing in providing nursing care to individuals, families and communities.
- Demonstrate understanding of life style and other factors, which affect health of individuals and groups.
- Provide nursing care based on steps of nursing process in collaboration with the individuals and groups.
- Demonstrate critical thinking skill in making decisions in all situation in order to provide quality care.
- Utilize the latest trends and technology in providing health care.
- Provide promotive, preventive and restorative health services in line with the national health policies and programmes.
- Practice within the framework of code of ethics and professional conduct and acceptable standards of practice within the legal boundaries.
- Communicate effectively with individuals and groups, and members of the health team in order to promote effective interpersonal relationships and teamwork.
- Demonstrate skills in teaching to individuals and group in Clinical/community health settings.
- Participate effectively as members of health team in health care delivery system.
- Demonstrate leadership and managerial skill in clinical/community health settings.
- Conduct need based research studies in various settings and utilize the research finding to improve the quality of care.
- Demonstrate awareness, interest and contribute towards advancement of self and of the profession.

| Admission Requirements:- |
- The minimum age for admission shall be 17 years on or before 31st Dec. of the corresponding year of admission.
- The minimum educational requirements shall be the passing of : Higher Secondary school certificate Examination (12 year course),
Or Senior Secondary school certificate Examination (10+2), Pre- degree Examination (10+2) Or An equivalent qualification with 12years schooling from a recognized board or university with science (Physics, chemistry, biology) and English with minimum of 50% aggregate marks (PCBE)
- Candidate shall be Medically Fit.

| OBJECTIVES |
| On Completion of B.Sc. Nursing (Post Basic) Degree programme the graduates will be able to: |
- Assess health status, identify nursing needs, plan, implement and evaluate nursing care for patients/clients that contribute to health of individuals, families and communities.
- Demonstrate competency in techniques of nursing based on concepts and principles from selected areas of nursing, physical, biological and behavioral sciences.
- Participate as members of health team in promotive preventive, curative and restorative health care delivery system of country.
- Demonstrate skills in communication and interpersonal relationship.
- Demonstrate skill in communication and interpersonal relationship.
- Demonstrate leadership qualities and decision-making abilities in various situations.
- Demonstrate managerial skill in community health settings.
- Practice ethical values in their personal and professional life.
- Participate in research activities and utilize research finding in improving nursing practice.

| To be eligible for admission to this course, a candidate shall have: |
- Passed the Higher Secondary or Senior Secondary or Intermediate or 10+2 or an equivalent examination recognised by the university for this purpose. Those who have passed 10+1 in or before 1986, will be eligible for admission.
- Obtained a certificate in General Nursing and Midwifery and registered as R.N.R.M. with the State Nurses Registration Council. A male nurse, trained before the implementation of the new integrated course besides being registered as a nurse with State Nurses Registration Council, shall produce evidence of training approved by Indian Nursing Council for a similar duration in lieu of midwifery in any one of the following areas:
- O.T. Techniques - Ophthalmic Nursing - Leprosy Nursing - TB Nursing - Psychiatric Nursing - Neurological and Neuro surgical Nursing - Community Health Nursing - Cancer Nursing - Orthopedic Nursing
- Candidates shall be medically fit.

| G.N.M. COURSE |
| OBJECTIVES |
| The nurse on completion of this course at this institute will be able to: |
- Demonstrate competency in providing health care to the individual, sick and well.
- Function effectively with the members of health care team in the hospital and in community.
- Demonstrate use of ethical values in their personal and professional life.
- Recognize the need for updating education for the professional development .
- Demonstrate interest in a activities of professional organizations.
- Assist in research activities.
- Demonstrate basic skill in teaching patients and giving nursing care to them.

| Eligibility Criteria (As per Indian Nursing Council) |
- Students has to be unmarried.
- Minimum and Maximum age for admission will be 17 years to 35 years respectively as on 30th September.
- Education Qualifications:-

- 10+2 class pass or its equivalent with 45% marks preferably with sciences subjects. (40% for SC/ST)
- All admissions shall be made on merit
- Applications should be sent to the Principal Kiran Memorial /Kular School of Nursing, G.T. Road Kishangarh Distt- Ludhiana (Pb). On the prescribed form enclosed with the prospectus. It must accompany the following:

- Bank D.D. of requisite amount along with registration fee in favor of Kular Medical Education & Research Society, Bija payable at Khanna.
- An attested copy of the matriculation certificate and 10+2 certificate.
- Character certificate from the principal of the last institute attended.
- Five copies of recent passport sized photographs.
- Medical fitness certificate got by the candidates at their own cost at Kular Hospital, Bija.
- Affidavit on stamped paper as per the specimens given on the back of admission form.
- Two self-addressed stamped envelopes of size 9*4 inches.
- Application should be submitted by hand at the reception counter of Kiran Memorial Kular school of Nursing, Kishangarh. Incomplete applications/those received after late date shall be rejected.
